Maybelle Carney Killebrew, age 87, of Latham, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Center in Dresden. Funeral services for Mrs. Killebrew will be Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church near Latham with burial following in the New Hope Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. The body will then be taken to the church for visitation from Noon until service time at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Killebrew was born in Latham, TN to the late Ernest and Ella Means Carney. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Killebrew is the widow of Eugene "Pappy" Killebrew and was preceded in death by a grandson Brian Gene Killebrew and three brothers, Jim Carney, Carl Carney and Aubrey Carney.
Mrs. Killebrew is survived by two sons, Richard (Connie) Killebrew and Kerry (Martha) Killebrew, both of Dresden; a daughter, Patty (Tim) Gilmour of Wilkes-Barre, PA; five grandchildren, Scott (Jinny) Killebrew and Adam (Jennifer) Killebrew, both of Dresden, Heather Killebrew of St. Louis, MO, Grayson (Steven) Shrawder of Parkville, MO and Sam Ground of Wilkes-Barre, PA; two step grandchildren, Jason (Chris) Harrison of Dresden, and Jessica Harrison of St. Louis, MO; six great grandchildren, Callen Killebrew, Caroline Killebrew, Reed Killebrew, Karson Lenger, Lucy Shrawder, and Steven Shrawder, III; and four step great grandchildren, Nicholas Bruce, Lindsay Harrison, Lauren Harrison, and Logan Harrison.
