Paul J. Danahay
The funeral of Paul J. Danahay, 87, of 2012 E. Lincoln St., Bloominton, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington.

The Rev. james Ramer will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 today at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Danahay, a retired field engineer and past grand knight of the Bloomington Knights of Columbus Coundil, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday (May 17, 1987) at Martin Health Center, Bloomington.

He was born Nov. 17, 1899, in Eureka, a son of Michael and Catherine Boller Danahay. He married Olene L. Atteberry on Sept. 25, 1925 in Bloomington. She died Nov. 10, 1971. He married Florence P. Lawler on June 14, 1975, in Bloomington. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, James P. , Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Julia Malloy, Joliet; two sisters, Mary Danahay, Springfield, and Julia Harrington, Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Danahay, who graduated from Eureka High School and attended Eureka College, was employed for 45 years for Burroughs Corp. He retired in 1963 from the office machines firm.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, its Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1936. He was made an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus on Nov. 30, 1964. He was twice grand knight of the council from 1944 to 1945 and from 1946 to 1947.

Mr. Danahay was an Army veteran of World War I.
