He served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1956. He served actively in Germany. Jim was employed by Atlantic City Electric for many years, as a surveyor until he retired in 1992. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Port Republic.
Surviving are his children, Terri (Mitch) Somers, Greg Dixon and Gary (Cathy) Dixon; ten grandchildren; 11 1/2 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Bill) Imandt and Ruth (Jim) Bonner; brother, Thomas (Joan) Dixon; sister-in-law, Lorraine; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Clarence B. and Bertha; brother, William and sister, Claire.
Graveside services will be held on January 24, 2009 at 11am at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ.
