Radford C. DeBoard Portage Radford C. DeBoard, age 86, of Portage, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. Radford was born in Clinchport, Virginia on December 29, 1916 to William J. and Emma DeBoard. He is a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II and was retired from Inland Steel Corporation having worked in the #4 BOF. Radford is a member of American Legion Post #260, Portage, IN. Radford is preceded in death by a daughter Verna Dora Pruitt, three brothers, Raymond and Roy DeBoard and Charlie Bowen. Radford is survived by his loving wife, Gladys M. DeBoard of Portage, IN; two children: James Radford (Thelma) DeBoard of Duffield, Virginia and Delena (Adriel) Perry of Portage, IN; three grandchildren: Brenda Perry, Scott Perry and Brad DeBoard; three great-grandchildren: Kyle Perry, Brooke and Nicolas DeBoard; one brother, Ralph DeBoard of Kingsport, TN. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN, Rev. Michael Klonaski officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 8 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage, IN with an American Legion Service to be held on Tuesday evening at 7 PM.
