Margaret C. Chavis age 78; loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born in Orangeburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Thelma Carrigg.
Mrs. Chavis loved the low country life which included fishin and crabbing.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Marvin L. Chavis Sr. of Murrells Inlet, SC; sons Del Chavis and his wife Jessie of Conway, SC, Marvin L. Chavis Jr. and his wife Debra of John's Island, SC; daughter Cheryl C. Eaddy of Murrells Inlet, SC; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Herring, Lois Baxley, Brenda Sanders and Carey Duc.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Chavis was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with burial to follow at Belin Cemetery.
