Brian W. Beard, 45, of Ijamsville, MD, died Thursday afternoon, November 14, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Towson, MD.

He was born in Binghamton, NY, April 26, 1951, the son of Shirley Place Beard Fairchild of Boynton Beach, FL, and the late Ralph Beard.

He married the former Linda M. Miller in 1974.

He graduated from Dallas [PA] High School in 1969 and from Penn State University in 1973. He was employed as a geologist for Woodward-Clyde Co., Gaithersburg, MD.

He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Association of Engineering Geologists. I

n addition to his wife and mother, be is survived by two sons, Andrew R. and Patrick J., both of Ijamsville; one brother, Alan Beard of Franklin, MA; and two sisters, Sheryl Robbins of Pittsfield, MA, and Mary Kuniski of Texas.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul.

The funeral service was held Monday at Richfield United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Almon D. Baird officiating. Burial was made in the Richfield Union Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were made by the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills.
