Elisha was married, first, at Wethersfield on 9 August 1821, to Mary JOHNSON, by William BENTLEY, Minister of the Gospel of Christ [Wethersfield VR, Marr., Vol. 2, p. 214].
Mary died young at the age of 28.

Elisha, a shoemaker, Joanna, and Franklin resided there where they were enumerated in the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Censuses. In 1860, Elisha gave his occupation as a farmer.
Elisha, retired, was enumerated there in the 1870 U.S. Census with Charles D. and Emma PAYNE.

Gravesite Details
The Wethersfield Historical Soc. recently photographed all the graves in the cemetery and there is none for Elisha. The colonial town of Wethersfield was later divided into the Towns of Rocky Hill, Newington and Glastonbury.
