Arthur C. Aubel, 86, died Dec. 20, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Forest City, PA, and lived in Crystal Lake near Carbondale, PA and Vero Beach for 23 years.

He was an educator at Palm Beach Academy, Palm Beach; and Forest City High School, Mountain View High School and Lackawanna Trail High School, all in Pennsylvania.

He served in the Army during the World War II as an Infantryman in the European Theater and received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars.

He received his bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, PA, and his master's from the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Carbondale. He was a member of Elkview Country Club, Crystal Lake; American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
