Edith Gaebler, 69, longtime resident of the Lockett community, passed away October 13, 1980 at the home of her daughter in Denison, Texas after a brief illness Services will be held in the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with interment in East View Memorial Park. She was born Aug. 2, 1911 in Grayson County, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Orval Hicks. She attended Haney Schools and married Robert L. Gaebler Nov. 19, 1935 in Vernon. She was a member of Lockett Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Robert Max Gaebler of Vernon and Orval Lee"Bud" Gaebler of Wichita Falls and Jerry Wayne Gaelber of Pueblo, Colorado; two daughters, Kathy Durr and Addie Jo Ogle of Denison; 6 sisters Ethel Blackburn and Mary Robertson, both of Sacramento, California, Gladys Weaver of Vernon, Alma Hendrix of Weston and Ruby Farrington and Marie Ferguson , both of Cartwright Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren . She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Gaebler in 1968, one daughter, Jeannie Kilman and one grandson, Kenny Kilman in 1972 and her parents.
