He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended schools there. He graduated from Skyline High School. He then attended Brigham Young University, the University of Idaho, Boise State University and Idaho State University, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in speech pathology.
He lived in Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Phoenix, Ariz. He received his cosmetology license and was later an instructor at Vidal Sassoon College in San Francisco. He also worked in Interior Design. He was later employed by Fidelity Investment as an investment agent.
He enjoyed traveling, music, antique collecting, art and design.
Survivors include his father, Forrest W. Wood of Blackfoot; a brother, Byron F. (Terri) Wood of Nampa; and three sisters, Carol (Ted) Whitehead and Jenniver (Alan) Clapp, both of Idaho Falls, and Nancy (Nord) Hill of Blackfoot.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen; and a brother, Kent D. Wood.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, in the New Sweden Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls.
