Jason Lamar "JJ" Godwin was born June 18, 1977 in Pensacola and passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011.
Jason is preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Dorothy Godwin and a beloved uncle, Paul Godwin.
Survivors include: his parents, Richard and Wanda Godwin of Pensacola; two brothers, John Godwin and Jeff (Michelle) Godwin and one sister, Jennifer Godwin, all of Pensacola; maternal grandparents, John D. and Helen Williams of Bay Minette, AL; three nephews, Landen, Bryden, Ashden Godwin of Pensacola; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011 all at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m.
Trahan Family Funeral Home, 419 Yoakum Court, is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be: John Godwin, Jeff Godwin, Timmy Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Michael Williams, and Kendall Bentley. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Lindsey.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Northview Community for the loving care Jason received during his lifetime. They would also like to thank the staff at ICU of West Florida Hospital for the professional and gentle care of Jason during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northview Community.
