Clifford Anthony James went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 21, 2011. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 23, 1950. He joined the military at age 17 as he was so eager to serve his country. He had a fear of heights, so in order to conquer his fear he became a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He loved the thrill of adventure.

After he returned to the States, he went on to own and operate Cliff's Pools & Spas for over 30 years. He was the best in Oklahoma at installing and repairing fiberglass pools and building beautiful Koi Ponds. He was also artistically talented through sketching and his eloquent writing. He was always so full of life and generosity.

When diabetes had shut down his kidneys in April of 1996, it looked as though he would need to receive generosity from someone else instead of being the giver. His baby sister, Theresa, gave him one of hers. He was always very grateful to her as this gave him 15 more years to be with his family and friends, especially his two children who adored him. The love of Jesus shined out of his eyes and touched the world around him. He always gave to those he loved most as well as those he barely knew - he had the most giving heart. He will be missed immensely.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Isom James; his sister, Theresa Faye Frye; his beloved former mother-in-law, Dorothy Shadid; and his precious dog, Crash. He is survived by his children: Clifford R. James of Yukon, and Delores R. Maxwell and husband Jarrett of Oklahoma City; his beloved mother, Thelma Louise (Turner) James of Hernando, MS; his siblings: Patricia James of Corpus Christi, TX; Ronnie James of Hernando, MS; Deborah Brown of Angleton, TX; Vicki Sargent and husband Daniel of Karnack, TX; and Larry James of Walls, MS; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one of his best friends and the mother of his children, DeLores Callison and husband Jim of Yukon, OK; his former father-in-law, Philip N. Shadid and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City, OK; his former sister-in-law, Phyllis Shadid of Oklahoma City, OK; and his former brother-in-law, Philip L. Shadid and wife Anita of Yukon, OK - all of whom with which he had always remained very close. He is also survived by countless friends and loved ones. His services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Guardian Funeral Home-West Chapel, with the interment to follow at the Bethany Cemetery.
