Zilma Aubin Utz died of natural causes at her home in Baton Rouge on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at about 10:30 p.m. She was born in Baker on Dec. 15, 1914. After high school, she became a registered nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, where she was on staff for many years. With some interruptions, she continued to work as a nurse for medical practitioners and briefly for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system until she was in her late 60s.
She is survived by a son, Stephen Utz; nieces, Carolyn Starns, Rita Millican, Judy Patriquin and Janelle Treaccar; and nephews, Frank Millican and Julius Aubin.
Her husband, Alex Thomas Utz, died in 1992.
There will be a graveside funeral service at the Shaw-McHugh Cemetery, Zachary.
