Larry Lloyd Boatright (1947 - 2011)

Larry Boatright, 64, passed away peacefully at home in the loving presence of his family Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorials: Blood and Cancer Disorder Center.

Larry Lloyd Boatright, CPP, was born in Purcell, Okla., to Lloyd and Ola Boatright. In 1982, he ventured to Texas where he met his lovely wife, Nita. During his childhood and youth, he worked on the family farm working cattle and hauling hay. He then went into the Air Force and became a member of the Air Police. Larry excelled in life and lived life to the fullest. He coached Pony Baseball for many years. He eventually became a Pony Baseball director where he worked with many youth of all ages. Larry became a Mason in 2007 and was a member of the South Side Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth. He had a fascination with electronics throughout his life. Larry began a future in electronics working as an alarm technician, working himself into management. He then ventured into consulting work, where he authored many articles related to security alarms that were published in magazines across the country. Larry also conducted nationally recognized training classes for certification in Texas for the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. He eventually went to work for the U.S. Treasury Department, Western Currency Facility. He managed the physical security of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Facility. Larry loved his last endeavor with the Bureau and the people he worked with. Larry and Nita married in 1985 and had many wonderful years together. Through all the ups and downs life had in store for them, they stuck together and became forever one. He was a wonderful father and the most loving and caring husband. We want to thank Henry Xiong and all the caring staff at the Blood Center of Fort Worth. Larry had a three-year battle with esophageal cancer. He was an organ bank donor for eyes. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Terry Boatright.

Survivors: Wife, Nita; son, John Fellers and wife, Michele; daughter, Jennifer Johnson and husband, Matt; mother-in-law, Fay Robert; brother, Paul Boatright and wife, Larissa; son, Larry Kessler and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Taylor, Caitlin and Hailie Fellers, Carley Cook, Jacob Johnson, Felicia, Ashley, Brandon, Jacob, Ethan, Austin and Mia Kessler; nieces, Laura and husband, Scotty Stephens, and Erin Boatright; nephews, Dillion and Derek Boatright; and beloved dog, "Bea Boatright."
