Funeral Services held for J. L. McDonald Held

Funeral services were conducted last Friday, January 14, at 3 p. m. at the Lometa Baptist Church for J. L. McDonald, who passed away at McCloskey Hospital January 8. Services were held up pending the hope of the arrival of his son, Harold McDonald, who is with the army of occupation in Germany, but evidently he was never contacted, as a letter was received from him Friday morning stating that he had recently been transferred from their last address.
J. L. McDonald, aged 53, was born in Alabama, but had been a resident of Texas for many years. He was a member of the Baptist Church, at Ft. Hancock, Texas. He is survived by his wife, and three sons, Harold, James and John. Also 1 brother and five sisters, but none of them were able to be present for the funeral.
Funeral services werre conducted by Rev. A. S. Neely, pastor of the Lometa Methodist Church, with interment in the Senterfitt cemetery with Masonic honors under the direction of the Lometa Masonic Lodge. Briggs-Gamel Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
