Lyle Curtis Schwaderer of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Thursday December 15, 2011, at the Royal C. Johnson VA Hospice care center. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Lutheran Church, 5000 S. Western Avenue on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 21.

Lyle was born to George and Mary (Uttecht) Schwaderer on May 28, 1935, in Delmont, SD. He graduated from Delmont High School in 1954, and then enlisted in the US Navy. After serving four years, he attended Black Hills National Business College in Rapid City, SD. Lyle began work on the Oahe Dam before beginning his career with State Government in Pierre, SD. He married in 1961, and three children were born, Melodie, Sherie and Kyle. After working 37 years for the state, he retired in 1998; his most recent position was an auditor with the Department of Revenue. In 1987, he married Sharon (Tschetter) Burton. After Sharon's retirement from State Government, they moved to Sioux Falls in 2002, where they still resided. Lyle and Sharon spent the past four winters in Mission, Texas, where they lived in a retirement park.

Survivors include his wife, three children,two step-sons,three grandchildren,four step-grandchildren, one sister, brother-in-law and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard and wife, Lorraine; two sisters, Lena Kindopp and husband, John, Laura Gjoraas and brother-in-law, Otto Wormsbecker
