Saundra Kay Allen, 58, of North 3rd Avenue, Paden City, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003.
Her beautiful spirit was called home to heaven to claim her wings. She was born May 10, 1944, to Alvina Potts Hornbrook and Gerald Blair. She was a spectacular person with a tremendous spirit and was dearly loved by all who knew her.
She will be met on the other side by her father; her beloved stepfather, Robert Hornbrook; dearly loved grandmother, Blair; her mother-in-law, Lelah Allen; her best friends, Brenda Haynes, J.D. Price, Judy Hamilton, and Helen Alexander; one nephew, Robert Myers; and many other friends and family members.
She leaves behind many people who will miss her each and every day, and will remember her in their hearts forever. They include her husband, Richard Allen of Paden City; three children, Dan Hatcher, David Hatcher and his wife, Ida, all of Paden City, Lisa Allen Urbaniak and husband Steve of Plymouth, Mass.; she was also "Mom" to Lee Hatcher of Paden City; her mother, Alvina Hornbrook of New Martinsville; two sisters, Terry Kennywell and her husband, Stewart of Gregory Mich., and Sherma Myers of Fort Pierce, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Betsy Emery of Paden City; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many more friends and family.
In her early years, she greatly enjoyed participating in minstrels as a singer. She was employed at Ormet for several years, was a member of a bowling league for a number of years, and ran many businesses, including the Family Circus Resturant and Tender Heart Collectables. She touched the lives of numerous people and taught each of them that they have the potential to live incredible lives, as long as they live well, love one another, and appreciate each day.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jarvis Funeral Home, Paden City, with the Rev. Greg Kassler officiating. Interment will be in Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
