James Edward "Jim" Rapp, age 54, a lifelong resident of the Cannon Falls area, died at his home in Cannon Falls Township on Friday morning, December 23, 2011.
Jim was born on January 22, 1957 in Red Wing, the son of LeRoy and Marian (Larson) Rapp. He grew up in Vasa, and they moved to Cannon Falls in 1969. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1975, and was a longtime member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls.
In his younger years he was a plumber with Len Gysbers and later did construction work. He was a handyman, and enjoyed helping others. He collected antique radios, coins, enjoyed listening to the radio, and watching the MN Vikings.
He is survived by his mother, Marian Rapp of Cannon Falls; three brothers, Jon of Red Wing, Thomas "Tom" and Barry, both of Cannon Falls; niece, Poy Nitmai of Red Wing; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy on May 26, 2009 and brother, Randy on November 10, 2007.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec 28 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Carol Sinykin officiating.
Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
