Aileen Reinier, 75, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011.
Born June 3, 1936, in Barstow, Calif., she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Adams Hayes. On Dec. 28, 1960, she married Ernest Reinier in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Reinier was a 1954 graduate of Mission High School in San Francisco, Calif. She worked at the ordnance plant in Middletown, Heatilator in Mount Pleasant, and San Jose Hospital in California. She also owned and operated Ernie's Tap in Hillsboro for many years. In 1999, after retirement, she returned to Hillsboro where she worked at the library for many years. She was a Hillsboro correspondent for the Mount Pleasant News, Farmington Record Leader and the Van Buren Register. For many years she distributed Hillsboro newsletters to former residents. She also worked with her longtime friend, Jean Wenke, at her Bonaparte shop.
She was an active member in the Hillsboro community. She belonged to the Christian church and attended the Baptist church. She was a member of the Relay For Life team, "No One Walks Alone," being the top fundraiser for several years.
Survivors include her husband; her mother of San Francisco; four children, Linda Kennedy of Farmington, Diana Carter of Sonora, Calif., Mary Cole of Lexington, Ky., Nick Reinier of Modesto, Calif.; one brother, Bob Hayes of Pacifica, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Wilson of Gardinerville, Nev., and Kathleen Lazzarini of Antioch, Calif.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her father, one sister, one brother and one nephew.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Monday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A memorial service for Mrs. Reinier will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hillsboro Baptist Church, with Pastor Duane Lacock officiating. Burial will be at Hillsboro Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
