Valentine was born in Normanby Twp; in Grey County to parents Friedrich Reiner and Phillibina Wagner in 1872.

On Feb. 12, 1895 he married Anna Huehn (1871-1956) in the village of Neustadt in Grey County.
Marriage Register #004471.

Apparently later in life he married for the 2nd time to a Lydia Cook.

Valentine passed away in his 68th year.

He was buried with his 2nd wife, Lydia in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Kitchener, Waterloo County.
