Jean (Mrs. Willis) Puffer, age 88, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.

Funeral services will be held at Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Faribault on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis R. Tamke officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and also at church for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Flora Jean, the daughter of John and Edith (Hoover) Ring, was born February 11, 1923 in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1941. She married Willis Puffer on June 8, 1946 in Faribault. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1991. Jean lived in Spencer, IA from 1963 to 2009, when she moved back to Faribault. She was previously employed as a teacher at a country school and held various secretarial jobs, including Clay County Social Services, Spencer, IA. Jean was involved at the Spencer Senior Center and enjoyed playing bridge, reading and traveling.

She is survived by four children, Mary (and Gary L.) Templin of Mankato, Edith (and Dan) Reiman of Spring Lake Park, Bob (and Ellen) Puffer of Waukon, IA and Jim (and Kim) Puffer of Walker; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Hazel Voss of St. Charles; two brothers, John W. (and Loretta) Ring of St. Paul and James (and Maren) Ring of Albert Lea; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marian Gangloff, Dorothy Voge, O.H. "Bud" Ring, Florence Lawson, Helen Sellner, Margaret Puffer and Avison "Buck" Ring.
