Ernie D. Reese, 67, died on December 19, 2011, of heart failure.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 23, at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.

Ernie was born on November 25, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Gertrude and David Reese. He graduated from Urbandale High School, lived in the Des Moines area, and moved to Pella in 1975. He worked at Hy-Vee for over 25 years and later retired from Pella Corp. after 15 years of service. Ernie enjoyed his work and the relationships he made throughout his years of employment.

While living in Pella, he was actively involved with Boys Scouts and liked camping in the Boundary Waters and Mitigwa Scout Camp. Ernie was a member of the Waveland Park Masonic Lodge No. 654. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Williams and Jeannette (Jerry) Piagentini, and a brother, David (Buster) Reese.
