Delmas B. Caldwell, 70, of Mullens, died Friday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 16, 1907 in Devon, Va., he was a son of the late George and Lola Boyd Caldwell. Caldwell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mullens, the Masonic Lodge AF&AM and a retired Mullens merchant. He was a former employe of Beckley Newspapers Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith B. Caldwell, Mullens; a son, Jan, Mullens; four brothers, Alton A. and Ray, both of Mullens, Randolph, Itmann and Cramer, Orville, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Lula Ann McCoy, Parkersburg, Mrs. Leona Crawford, Mrs. David Hibbs and Mrs. David Wiseman, all of Warren, Ohio and two grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Mullens, with the Rev. Vaughn Earl Hartsell in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sam Foglesong Funeral Home, Mullens.
