JOHN DOYLE BARGER, RETIRED FARMER, DIES AT AGE OF 92

A former resident of rural Craigville, John Doyle Barger, 92, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Care Center, where he had been a patient since 1984. Death was due to congestive heart failure.
Born Feb. 6, 1899 in Wells County, he was a son of John H. and Elizabeth L. Peoples Barger. His marriage to Dorothy M. Johnson, who died in February 1985, took place July 3, 1919 in Wells County.
Mr. Barger, a retired farmer, was a member of the Tocsin United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Lamoin D. Barger and Truman D. Barger, both of rural Craigville; three sisters, Mrs. Victor (Alta) Byerly and Mrs. Floyd (Lola) Ehrman, both of Berne, and Mrs. Aleta Byerly of California, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Calling will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Steve Cunnington will officiate, and burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be mde to the Tocsin United Methodist Church.
