A. B. Brewer was born Feb. 14, 1932 to Joseph M. and Leslie (Reasor) Brewer. He graduated from Porter High School and later joined the U.S.Air Force. During that time A.B. completed two years of college study. A.B. was a long-time owner of Brewer Labs where he manufactured and serviced electronic products.

He was a licensed ham radio operator and a member of the Porter Lions Club and the Tulsa Glue Dobbers. He was a member of the Porter Church of Christ. A.B. Brewer died on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 in Muskogee, just four days before his 75th birthday.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife, June Brewer on July 28, 2002; by his parents; an infant son, Alfred Brent; and his three brothers.

He is survived by: his wife, Shirley Brewer of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Janelle and Pat Boyd and Eve and Roy Cole, all of Porter; three sons and their wives, Joe and Laura Brewer and Tom and Sonya Brewer and Jon and Liz Brewer, all of Porter; grandchildren, Chris Boyd and wife, Katrina, Nathan Boyd and wife, Anne, Ben Cole and wife Michelle, Matt Cole and wife, Jodi, Desera, Karissa, Lyn, Anthony, Kaleb and Luke Brewer; great-grandchildren Molly, Nate, Jackson, Blake and Mason; stepchildren, Clyde Diamond and Shan Simons; other relatives and friends.

A committal service was at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter. Pallbearers were Chris Boyd, Nathan Boyd, Ben Cole, Matt Cole, Ronnie Brewer and Leslie Brewer.

Mallett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
