After the death of Elizabeth in 1909, he married a widow, Martha Schmidt-Voelzing on Dec. 21, 1910 in Mildmay, Carrick Twp; Marriage Register #006294.
Herman died at the age of 82 years and 10 days. His Cause of Death was; Carcinoma of the Liver. Death Certificate #041644.
Herman Hopf
The death of Herman Hopf, 57 Patricia Ave, Kitchener in his 83rd years occurred at St. Mary's Hospital Wednesday alternoon. Deceased was born in Rochester, NY. on Aug. 18 and came to Ontario at the age of four and has been living in Kitchener for the past 27 years. For many years he carried on a grocery business in the Twin City having retired some years ago. He attended St Peters Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, 5 sons, Samuel, Irvin, Eldon, Roy, and Ezra all of Kitchener, two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Bieman, Hanover and Mrs. Clarence Peifer, Kitchener, one brother Henry Hopf of Clifford, four sister Mrs. Charies Wolfe, Neustadt, Mrs Conrad Voelzing Kitchener, Mrs. John Yennsen, Kitchener, and Mrs. Phillip Stroh. Clifford. There are also 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The body wil. be resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral home until Saturday morning when it will be removed to the home. Funeral services are being held on Sunday afternoon, August 22 at 2 o'clock at the house and thence to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Interment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.
