Mr. Mason passed on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Jan. 2, 1947 in Tallapoosa County, AL to John Olin Mason and Emma Louise McIntyre Mason. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Mason worked for the Alexander City Fire Dept, Goodwater Police Dept and later retired from Russell Corp. He enjoyed Auburn football, growing citrus trees, NASCAR racing, fishing and going to the beach. Most of all, Mr. Mason loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Edwina Salter Mason of Alexander City; daughters, Shelley Marie Mason of Jacksons Gap and Rachel Nicole Andrews of Alexander City; son, Johnny "Bubba" Wayne Mason (Jennifer) of Trussville; grandchildren, Marlee Mason and Maegan Mason both of Trussville and Trae Andrews of Alexander City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
