Roy Helton, 79, of Stanford died Wednesday at his home. He was born August 22, 1931 in Hyden, KY to the late Chester and Mary Hensley Helton. He was an aircraft mechanic and had retired from Aeronca Inc., Middletown, OH after 39 years of service. He had attended the Redemtion Road Church.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Judy A. Helton of Stanford; 3 children from a previous marriage, Jimmy Wayne Helton, Mary Ellen Schell and David Helton all of London, KY; a brother Troy Helton of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Cora L. Brewer of Middletown, OH and Flo Ealy of Stanford; Grandchildren and several neices and nephews;
He is preceded in death by two sons, Michael Allen Helton and Curtis J. Helton.
Visit. will be Friday from 4-7:30 pm with the funeral service following visitation at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gary Yokom will be officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
