Leda A. Merchant, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation. She was a resident of Columbus.
She is survived by two daughters, Margie M. Myers of Columbus and Deborah K. Botts of Taylorsville; two siblings, Charles "Sonny" Burton of Columbus and Carolyn Sue Bush of Edinburgh; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. "Bill" Merchant; her parents, Beatley and Oise (Burton) Burton; two children, Valerie A. Rogers and Rickey "Jo Rickey" Merchant; five siblings, Buster Holand Burton, Buford Dale Burton, Faylene Waltz, Margie Burton and Harolyn Burton; and a granddaughter.
The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
