According to family tradition, Isaac was homesick for the hills of (West) Virginia after losing his wife and moved back East. He lived with his son, Phillip, and his family in the area which is now Slab Creek, Ritchie County, WV, then Isaac moved back to the Hackers Creek area, where he was living when he died in 1838.
