Warren, OH - Leona Winter Caldwell Crawford, 91, of 682 Rose Garden Dr., died 11 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2002, of natural causes, at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, OH. Born Dec. 28, 1910, at Maben, she was the daughter of the late George Echols Caldwell and Lola Sadie Boyd. Mrs. Crawford was married to Lacy Crawford, who preceded her on June 26, 1971. She had lived in Warren for the past eight years, formerly of Maben. She was a housewife and was of the Methodist faith. During WW-II, she worked at the Sylvania Plant in Huntington. She liked to write poetry and she won the Golden Poet Award.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by five brothers, Kramer, Alton, Delmas, Randolph and Ray and a sister, Lula Mae McCoy. Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Darrance Cole of Warren, Ohio; a son, George E. Crawford of Port St. Lucy, FL; two sisters, Helen Wiseman and Velma Hibbs, both of Warren, OH; and one grandchild. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Arrangements by James Funeral Home, 8 E. Broad St., Newton Falls, OH.
