Mrs. Evelyn Fitch Cole, 78, of 2917 Montgomery Ave., Ashland, died Monday in King's Daughters' Medical Center. Mrs. Cole was born March 23, 1911, in Boyd Co, a daughter of the late Fred and Anna Conley Fitch. She was a retired teacher of the Fairview Independent and Boyd Co School Districts. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers' Association and a Kentucky Colonel. Surviving are her husband, Lucien C Cole; two sisters, Harriet F McNurlin of Hitchins and Darla Litteral of Ashland. The funeral will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday at the Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. F.M. McNurlin. Burial will be in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
