A SAD CASE
It was a sad fate indeed that fell to the lot of Leonard (Linn) Pomeroy and family of Kellogg. A little baby came to the home last week and several days afterwards, on Saturday morning at 10:40 o'clock the mother fell victim to the grim reaper, who is no respecter of age, station or circumstance.

The grief stricken husband is almost crushed beneath the force of the awful blow and the bereaved children can hardly realize what has happened in the grievous affliction that has come to them. May the find strength to bear up under the weight of it all, and may the solace of the troubled spirit and the bleeding heart be the thot of a happy reunion in the promised land beyond. Mr. Pomeroy and family are deeply grateful for the kind sympathy and aid rendered by neighbors and friends in their hour of need.

Mrs. Pomeroy who was Miss Phoebe Lee was born in Buffalo County Wisconsin Oct 14, 1864. She was married at Alma to Leonard Pomeroy Aug 19, 1883 they moved to Mazeppa, late on coming to the present home at Kellogg. Eight children were born to them. Goldie, Frank, Archie, Jacob, Otis, Genevieve, Gladys and the little boy not yet two weeks old.
Besides the family Mrs. Pomeroy is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mrinda, four brothers and two sisters.
The funeral took place from the home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock the Re. Thomas Billing of Wabasha officiating. The remains ere laid to rest in the Cooka Valley Cemetery, a large number of people attending.
To the sorrowing family the heartfelt sympathy of the community is extended in the grievous affliction that has come to them. May they find strength to bear up under the weight of it al and may the solace of the troubled spirit and the bleeding heart be the thot of a happy reunion in the promised land. Mr. Pomeroy and family are deeply grateful for the kind sympathy and the aid rendered by neighbors and friends in their hour of need.
