She was born Sept. 13, 1895, in New York City, the daughter of George Grey Barnard and Edna Monroe Barnard. She was an interior decorator since the 1930s and lived in retirement in Waterford. Miss Barnard's mother was the compiler of the Monroe Readers which were extensively used in elementary schools in America inthe early twentieth century.
Miss Barnard is vurvived by a brother, Monroe Barnard, who lives in Europe.
Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete, are under the direction of Byles Memorial Home, New London.
