Ida M. Bridgewater, 79, of Jacksonville, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born in Carrollton Dec. 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Berneice Talley Long. She first married Lawrence A. Price in 1952, and they divorced. She later married William "Bill" Bridgewater Jr., and he preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1979.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheri (Tom) Roberts of Jacksonville and Vicki (Jack) Morris of Springfield; a stepson, Jack (Marilyn) Kell of Carrollton; a stepdaughter, Pat (Jim) Midkiff of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Stacey (Matt) Vaniter, Nick (Dottie) Carl, Jayla (Mike) Tolliver and Adam Morris; two stepgrandchildren, John (Susan) Kell and Crisea Kell; four great-grandchildren, Callan Vaniter, Jayce Vaniter, Ely Tolliver and Izabel Tolliver; two sisters, Paula (Gene) Weineke of Brussels and Bonnie Smith of Carrollton; and a brother, Fred (Karen) Long of Dorsey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Dorothy Walker and Phyllis Tuey.
She was a member of the Carrollton First Baptist Church. She was in the insurance business for over 50 years and owned and operated O.H. Vivell Insurance for many years prior to retirement.
Services were entrusted to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home of Carrollton, Illinois.
