Funeral services for Bernice Certain will be conducted Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from the Nazarene Church of Elk City with Rev. Jesse McKinnon officiating. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.

Adilee Bernice Certain was born July 22, 1921 at Dill City, OK to Ben and Winnie (Larner) Curtis and passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the age of 90. She moved with her family south of Elk City where she attended Highway School and then continued her education at Canute High School. She moved to Elk City in 1949 and has lived in Elk City since. She was married to L. E. Certain on October 3, 1971. Bernice was an active member of the Nazarene Church where she taught 5 year olds, a nursery teacher and took care of the maintenance of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother, 2 brothers and a sister.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Lee Schaller of Omaha, NE, Annette Srader and her husband Alan of Charleston, SC, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and a sister, Phyliss Reagan of Dallas, TX. The family requests memorials in Bernice's name made to the Nazarene Church of Elk City.
