She was a singer (soprano), and teacher. Her stage name was Jan Ruban. She took a music education in Yalta. She performed in ensembles with her husband in the musical salons of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Paris. In 1922 she emigrated with her husband to Constantinople, and later then lived in Germany. In 1923 in Berlin, she performed at an concert with Medtner. From 1924 she lived in Paris. In 1924 she participated in the concerts of the Russian Symphony Orchestra conducted by L. Maslovsky. She was singing by N.K. Medtner. She sang at concerts for the Society "Music", and on the evenings of songs by A.T. Gretchaninov (1926). In 1928 gave an solo concert at the Chopin Hall. She appeared at the performances of the opera classic of the Russian Conservatory in Paris (1930). Since 1934, she was part of the administrative council (then in government) of the Russian Musical Society abroad (RMOZ). As a professor, she gave classes in singing at the Russian Conservatory, then as emeritus professor. In 1950 she was elected to the Interim Management Committee of the conservatory. A member of the Society "icon." In recent years, lived in a Russian home in Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois. October 12th, 1955 at a joint meeting of the Board and the Russian Conservatory was established RMOZ Prize AM Jan-Ruban for free education in the Conservatory in singing.
