Russian composer, pianist, violist, teacher, music critic, activist musical culture and the artist. He graduated from the Natural Sciences Department of Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the University of Kiev, and at Kiev Conservatory in piano with V.V. Puchalski, and then a the studied at the Kiev Art School. He then studied at Moscow Conservatory in studies of composition with S.I. Taneyev, and then followed by Liszt's Piano School. In 1904, director of the Crimean Musical Society. He gave concerts accompanied with A.M. Jan-Ruban. In 1922 he emigrated to Constantinople, then lived in Germany, and then in Paris in 1925. Conducted performed as a concert pianist and accompanist, including A.M. Jan-Ruban, N. Koshisch and N. Karandakovoy. He was one of the founders, and member of the Board of Trustees (1931-1956), since 1945 director of the Russian Conservatory in Paris. At the end of his life, honorary director of the Conservatory. As a professor, he taught piano, composition, harmony, music theory. Founder and board member of the Russian Musical Society abroad (RMOZ), Honorary Member of the Society. Member of the Scientific and Philosophical Society in Paris, a board member of the Hearth of Russian music, a director and member of the Board of Trustees of the Music Publishers on behalf of M.P. Belyaev. He was the author of music for the theater ("Famira Kifared"), classes in piano Poem for the Left Hand (1938), chamber and vocal works of art songs based on poems by Russian poets, music triptychs ("Pantelei" and "Spell"), He performed his works on musical evenings in the Russian music (from 1929). In 1937 member of the Pushkin Committee, and 1952 as a member of the organizing committee of Gogol Gogol's plays and in the evening. He performed at parties and balls in the wording of "Renaissance", in the Franco-Russian Committee (1950), in the Circle of Russian Studies Russian Student Christian Movement (RSCM), etc. The author of numerous musicological articles, including the work of Nicholas Medtner. Collaborated in the "Illustrated Russia", "Bulletin of the RSCM,", "Renaissance," the newspaper "Russian Thought".
