Mable Marie, "Granny" Ballenger, homemaker and longtime resident of Boyds, MD (age 87) died on December 15, 2011 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, MD. She was born on December 18, 1923 to Clarence and Nellie Huff in Westminster, MD.
She was the wife of the late Wilson Albert Ballenger; dear mother of Mable Marie Sizemore of Frederick, MD; cherished grandmother of Beverly (Raymond) Jordan of Frederick, MD, Gene Ahalt and Gary Gise of Boyds, MD and Kevin Ahalt of Frederick, MD; adoring great-grandmother of Kayla and Raymond Jordan, Evan and Brooke Ahalt, Maggie and Logan Gise, all of Frederick, Melissa Lamartina of Baltimore, MD; and great-great-grandmother of Angelo Lamartina. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A viewing was held on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. at the Boyds Presbyterian Church, 19901 White Ground Road, Boyds, MD 20841 where Mrs. Ballenger has been a longtime member. Funeral services began at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Merritt Ednie officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery. A reception was held immediately following the interment in the Kerr Hall at the Church.
