Brent Michael Newton, aged 15, passed from his parents' arms into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 27, 2003. Brent was an inspiration to all who knew him during his three-year battle with bone cancer. He taught us the true meaning of Faith, Courage and Determination. Brent is survived by his loving parents, Dennis and Kathy (Dewey); sisters, Kylie, Brittany and Mariah Newton all at home; John and Amy, Courtney, Lucas, Shelbie and Grant Marble; grandparents, Ginny Dewey, Ron and Carol Marble, Philip and Sumalai Becker all of Grand Rapids, Myron and Susan Newton of Atlanta, GA; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many very many special friends. Brent was a sophomore at Northview High School. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at DeVos Children's Hospital Pediatric Oncology Clinic and to our Pediatric Hospice Team. Each of you hold a special place in our hearts. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 Four Mile Road N.E., with Rev. John F. Vallier officiating. Please meet at church. Burial will follow at Blythefield Memory Gardens. Visiting hours for family will be Monday 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. N.E. at Three Mile Rd. where the Scripture Service will be held Tuesday 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to DeVos Children's Hospital Pediatric Oncology Clinic or to Hospice of MI Pediatric Team.
