Our much loved wife, mother and grandmother, Rhea Mae Anthon Slick, passed away quietly at home after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Born June 14, 1923 in Magna, Utah, to Neils Foster and Mable Mae Nielson Anthon. Raised by her grandmother to age 6, then raised by her uncle and aunt, John Ross and Laura Anthon, until she entered the service. She proudly served her country in World War II in the Navy, from 1943 to 1945.
Married James Elwood Slick, August 12, 1944 in Lakehurst, New Jersey. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Life member of DAV Chapter 6 and served as Jr. Vice Commander from 1990-91. Active member of the LDS Church, and served as secretary of the Relief Society in the Kearns 10th Ward.
Survived by her husband; children, Linda (Blaine) McDonald, Dennis (Linda) Slick, Colleen (John) Thistle, Robert (Laura) Slick; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, brother and granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, 1994, 11 a.m. at the Hunter 15th LDS Ward, 5000 West Pavant Ave (3735 South). Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd. and Thursday, one hour prior to service at the church. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
