Michael Roy Crook May 7, 1944 - December 8, 2011 Graveside services for Michael Roy Crook will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery (2739 Panama Lane) on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Mike was born May 7, 1944 to Marvin and Annabelle Crook. Mike was escorted up to Heaven by the angels on December 8, 2011. Mike met the love of his life, Mavis at the age of 16 and married her on December 29, 1962. They were blessed with two children, Cheri and Michael Jr. Mike liked to take his family camping and cruising, but most of all, to Disneyland which remained his favorite his entire life. Mike's favorite job was at the Bakersfield Californian in the Tech Dept. Mike leaves behind to mourn him, his wife Mavis; daughter, Cheri Kirchner (Jack); son, Michael Crook Jr.; mother, Annabelle; sister, Marva Larson (Don); "brothers", Randy Westfall (Sue), Roger Westfall (Debra) and his "sister", Alice Puckett; four grandchildren that brought his such joy, Marissa Crook, Nicole Kirchner-Reynolds (Jon), Steven Crook and Matthew Crook; one great grandchild, Morgan who brought such joy to him the last three years; many nieces and nephews and his very special girl, Million, who owned him for five years. Mike had many health problems that were manageable but this time it was not to be. This time God said no. Mike was ready to go a month ago but his family held on. God had to show us Mike's pain so that we would accept his decision. We will love and miss you forever, but we finally did what you wanted us to do a month ago and let you go with no more pain. Mavis would like to say thank you to the Heart Hospital for Mike's excellent care and to very special nurses, Ann and Darci who went above and beyond to help Mike.
