She was born December 3, 1937, in Beaver Dam, Utah, to Joseph Henry Bowen and Maude Maughn Walters Bowen. She attended Grace Elementary and graduated from Grace High School in Grace, Idaho. She attended Idaho State University in Pocatello.
She married Joseph M. Hulse on December 17, 1955, in Grace. They had a daughter and a son. They were later divorced.
She married John Bever King on October 8, 1977, in Soda Springs. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They served missions together in Finland and the Stockholm, Sweden Temple. She served for many years as Primary chorister, and in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. She volunteered with her husband as clergy at the hospital. She worked in banking, and as a Chapter I tutor in School District 91. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, traveling and cruises. She was a great Mon and homemaker who loved her own children, grandchildren and neighbor children.
Survivors include her husband, John King of Idaho Falls; daughter, Valerie (Mike) Arnold of Idaho Falls; son, Merrill J. Hulse of St. George, Utah; brother, Joel (Gail) Bowen of Ogden, Utah; sister-in-law, Patricia Bowen of Orem, Utah; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Farel Bowen.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 1st Ward, 1660 12th St. with Bishop Larry Christensen officiating. The family visited with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. Burial was in Lost River Cemetery in Moore, Idaho.
