Death of J.H. Moyer
John H. Moyer, resident of this vicinity since he was one year old, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday afternoon at the age of 77.
Mr. Moyer was born Mar 31, 1876, at Schuylkill County, Pa., son of Mr. and Mrs. June Moyer who one year later homesteaded a farm six miles east of Junction City.
John Moyer lived on farms in this vicinity since then, until retiring five years ago and moving to Junction City. His home was at 216 West Eighth. His death came suddenly and followed a heart attack as he was outside the home yesterday.
Mr. Moyer was married on Mar 11, 1906 to Miss Cynthia Leach of Junction City. She died in 1920. They were the parents of two children who survive Mr. Moyer, a daughter, Miss Florence Moyer of Junction City and a son, Alvy Moyer, Route 3. Six grandchildren also survive and one brother, Adam Moyer of Quenemo.
Mr. Moyer was a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev Donovan Hinkson. Burial will be in the family lot in Highland Cemetery.
