William Harrison (Harry) Jennings, 90, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning (Dec. 25, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness following a fall at home.

Born in Scott County, Va. (Rye Cove), he moved to Kingsport at an early age. He served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Eastman Chemical Co. after over 37 years of service.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eva Jennings Moore in 2000; a son, Donald Eugene Jennings; two grandsons, Billy David Jennings and Brian Patrick Moore; his parents, John Worley Jennings and Myrtle Starnes Jennings; one sister, Dorcus Bridwell; one brother, Claude Jennings.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years (Dec. 23 was their anniversary), Katherine Clayman Jennings, of the home; one daughter, Betty McConnell and husband Darrell of Kingsport; three sons, Bill D. Jennings and wife Rosemary, Daytona Beach, Fla., Paul R. Jennings and wife Linda, Fall Branch, Jerry A. Jennings and friend, Zelda Slemp, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Scott Moore and wife Kim, Amy Parsons and husband Jeff and Cheyenne Jennings; four great-grandchildren, Brogan Jennings, Allie Parsons, Connor Parsons and Kade Moore; two sisters, Margaret Norris and Pearl Smith and husband Bob, both of Kingsport; two brothers, Kenny France, Kingsport and Henry France and wife Geneva, Gate City, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
