Funeral services for Cody M Haynes were held Monday afternoon at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.L. Alexander officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with ritual serves at the grave in charge of the Masonic Order, Eldon Ionia Lodge No. 381.
Mr. Haynes died suddenly Wednesday night, August 11, at the new home he had completed and moved into that day. He became ill soon after midnight and died before medical aid could reach him.
Cody Haynes, 49, was born at Etterville, Mo., October 9, 1898, and grew to manhood in the community. He was the son of the late C. M. Haynes and Lula Haynes.
November 19, 1927, he was married to Maude Young at Liberty, Mo. Because of his father's failing health, they returned to Missouri from Los Angeles, Calif., in May of last year. His father preceded him in death August 24, 1947.
Mr. Haynes was a member of the First Christian Church at Eldon and of the Hollenbeck Masonic Lodge in Los Angeles.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Haynes; his mother, Mrs. Lula Haynes; two sisters, Mrs. A.M. Colson and Mrs. Vernon Pope; a niece and nephew, Shirley Ann and Charles Pope, all of Eldon.
