"E. D. Hunnell, 74, of Morrill, irrigation company employee since he came to the valley 33 years ago, died yesterday at a Scottsbluff hospital. Mr. Hunnell suffered a stroke on October 15, and had never fully recovered. The body is at the Fisher mortuary in Mitchell.
"Mr. Hunnell was born in Wisconsin, came with his family to Nebraska when he was a boy. He grew up at Aurora, Nebraska, and married there in 1898. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Morrill.
"Surviving are his wife and two sons, Merle A. of Ainsworth, Nebraska, and Eliphalet, serving in the Navy in the southwest Pacific. Three daughters are dead.
"When he came to the valley, Mr. Hunnell was employed by the U.S. reclamation service, and in recent years had been ditch supervisor for the Pathfinder Irrigation district.
"Arrangements for the funeral had not been made last night."
