Mrs. Elizabeth W. Richards, 89, widow of Harry R. Richards, Sr., died Wednesday at Albion Community Hospital following a two weeks illness. She had resided at Sheldon Manor for the past year and a half. Mrs. Richards was born Nov. 30, 1882, in White City, KS, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Kilpatrick) Walker. She was married Sept. 23, 1908, to H. R. Richards, who died Jan. 22, 1959, in St. Petersburg, FL. They came here in 1910 and made their home at 419 Elizabeth Street for many years. Mr. Richards being owner of the Albion Motor Sales, which he operated in Albion until Feburary, 1958. Mrs. Richards was a member of the First United Methodist Church, its W.S.C.S., the E.L.T. Club, Review Club and the Albion Historical Society. Surviving are two sons, Max R. Richards, Albion; and Harry Richards, Jr., Pompano Beach, FL; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jeanne) Clore, Ionia; a sister, Mrs. J. E. Bornor, Rockford, IL; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2:00 at Wesley Chapel with Rev. Lynn DeMoss officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Albion Chapel of Tidd Williams Funeral Chapels is in charge of services. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions to the United Methodist Church, or the Albioin Historical Society.
