ARCHDALE – Lottie Barrett 88 of Archdale died Thursday at her home. Born June 16, 1923 in Stuart, VA, Mrs. Barrett is a daughter of the late King Sutphin and Martha Bowman Sutphin. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Barrett enjoyed going to flea markets. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband Paul Barrett in 1973 and a son Odell Spence in 1996.
Mrs. Barrett is survived by ten children; Johnny Spence of Sophia, David Spence of Trinity, Ronnie Spence of Danville, VA, Tony Spence and Kenny Spence both of Archdale, Polly Clifton of Reidsville, Molly Blakely of High Point, Sandy Cecil of Trinity, Kay Flannery and Kathy Lackey both of Sophia and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barrett will be held 2:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with Pastor Gary Blakely officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
