Mrs. Emily B. Pendleton
ATLANTIC CITY, Feb. 24. — Mrs. Emily B. Pendleton, member of an old Philadelphia family, died at her home, 5804 Ventnor ave., Ventnor, today.
Mrs. Pendleton, widow of Edward G. Pendleton, was one of the pioneer winter residents of Palm Beach. She has owned a home there for 52 years.
She was interested in several charities, particularly cancer research and blind research. She was a member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her father was Francis Barton, Philadelphia scientist and linguist, and her mother, Emily Chace, of Boston. Her grandfather was John Rhea Barton, prominent Philadelphia surgeon.
Her only living relatives are Lady Ribesdale, of England, and Copley Amory, of Washington, cousins. Funeral services will be held at her home Tuesday afternoon, with burial on Wednesday in Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington.
